Cambridge - Checkpoint

Checkpoint was a live action installation that took place at Cambridge University’s Sedgewick site in February, 2016.
There are 96 fixed checkpoints in the West Bank. The wall will be 450 miles long when complete. The installation attempted to show the day-to-day experience for Palestinians within this regime.

Artists, activists and students worked together and individuals had passes, or uniforms, back-stories and planned journeys that took them beyond the checkpoint. Some were going to work, visit sick relatives in hospital or to study.

This installation began a weeklong series of activities to mark Israeli Apartheid Week and was developed with the University Palestine Society and Cambridge University students, Julia Modern and Oblique Arts.
